According to the Weather Service, the eye of the storm passed through the city on Saturday at around 7:30 pm with 95 MPH winds. 46 Degrees Yesterday was one of THE hottest days of this 2007/2008 Summer here in Asuncion. So, armed with my Digital Camera and sporting my Indiana Jones uniform, I decided to walk 2 blocks from my office and take a photo of the digital thermometer on the corner of Lillo and San Martin Ave.

At 4PM the thermometer was showing 46 degrees Celsius, which equals 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Although 1 degree below The 2007 Hottest Day registered in October, it still felt like I was being slowly boiled.

UPDATE: Big picture after the jump.

Cars floating

UPDATE II: After last Thursday’s 115 F,  Friday brought a huge rain storm. It poured 5 inches in less than 2 hours. In Asuncion, that can only mean one thing: cars floating everywhere.
