Contrary to the ordinary course of nature, today I actually won something. Not just anything, I won 1st Place at the Veerle’s “What is Graphic Design Poster Competition”. Seriously, this is really incredible for someone who never won anything (well except for that one time when I won the “Get a Haircut from your Older Brothers Lucky Draw” and end up looking like a Gremlin for a whole month).
Veerle has always been one of my favorite Graphic/Web Designers and a tremendous inspiration both in Design and Web Technologies (in case you don’t know, she’s a terrific XHTML/CSS/EE coder) ever since I found out about her blog like 4 years ago, so really just to be part of the competition was an honor already.
The winning piece was “And you can take that to the bank” which you can view here (as well as my other two submissions) but now that the competition is over I would like to take the time and display my favorite entries (in no particular order) from the other competitors.
Finally, I would like to thanks (again) to Veerle and all the people who participate or watched the competition. Thank you!

That’s great man. I saw that on Veerle’s site the other day. It really is a great looking poster.
I added it as a favorite in Flickr the other day. I’ve never done a design on an angle like that that has turned out well. That’s what really stood out with your design, it seemed effortless and your text had a sense of humor to it which helped.
I should also mention that your site looks great.
