My good friend and former workmate @ Conexion, Victor Cartes, started his own Dev Shop called TIVA and asked me to design a logo for it. His only request was “clean lines and a warm color scheme”. Needless to say I was very honored to fulfill his request, and this is the result.

After a lot of great positive feedback from the community in the “What is Graphic Design Poster Competition”, I decided to add my 3 submission to the Portfolio section under a new Print category (hopefully there will be more print stuff in the futuer), including the freshly baked “100% Intentional”. Back in 2001 I built a Web Development Company from the scratch. I recruited the team, trained them, developed the brand and got in charge of the Creative Direction of the agency. I really enjoyed most of my time working there, and if it wasn’t for the fact my former boss and owner of the company one day decided pay checks were overrated, I would probably even say it was a good experience.
I wouldn’t normally even name this company and actually I won’t but I still wanted to share with you the work I’ve done for them 6 years ago.

I have a brother who’s a professional bodybuilder and a personal trainer. One day he suggested me the idea of importing dietary supplements from the States and sell them in Paraguay. In case you haven’t lived in Paraguay in the last few years, it’s very hard to get that kind of products there. So I decided to invest a little money I had and created Pesoca (Pesoca = Slang for bodybuilder in spanish).
If you ever spent enough time on a Gym and/or around bodybuilders you will know this people live on a world of discipline that can only be compared to those in the army. They diet 11.5 months a year. The first part of their diet consist on gaining weight, this is usually reffer as “the loading” stage. Once they hit their plateau they start the second part of their diet which consist on losing the fat they gained on the loading stage. They do accomplish with a totally different diet and totally different dietary supplements. The second part ends the day of the competition, and after that, they start the cycle once more, year after year.
The whole concept behind the PESOCA Logo is that endless gaining and then losing process, hence the difference of weight between the characters.

Yes, that is true. NOS is the company I founded with my partner Martin Acuña. NOS is the reason I’m a partner at SUM Agency today and the reason I’m here now. What else can I say. NOS represents the first time I wake up one day and thought to myself “Hey… I can do this for a living”. The very next thing I did that morning was to call my boss at the time to let him know I was quiting. Actually, I think I got dressed and then I called my boss. Mmm… no I’m pretty sure I quited while I was still in my undies.

There was a time were Little Ponies ran free all over the world and Google didn’t actually meant anything yet (Long live HotBot.com). Back in those days of the Y2K fever and before the RIAA rule the world (and killed all the little ponies) I designed a logo (a mascot) and website for a MP3 Sharing Community. Ahhh… to be young and reckless.
