Moises Bertoni was a Swiss scientist, (1857-1929), who moved to South America, first Argentina, then Paraguay where he studied and published material on Guarani indian ethnography, the Guarani language, botony, zoology, entomology , meteorology, agriculture and biology.
In 1988, people concerned about the alarming disappearance of Paraguayan fauna and flora and its grave impact on the future generations of Paraguayans, formed a group whose main focus was to promote the conservation of nature. It was formed to combat the ongoing destruction of the environment and to protect the rich biodiversity of Paraguay. This organization was called The Moises Bertoni Foundation and it was honor to develop a Website for them.

You can file this under the Rejected Designs category, but I still believe the concept was very strong and there’s no way I’m going to let all those credits spent in iStockphoto.com be a wasted cause, so here, this is the proposed concept for DWT Turner, a PR Consultancy Firm with offices in North America and Asia. In case you were wondering, this is the concept that made it to the public.

You’re probably thinking “Asuncion must be a helluva place to partay!” and if that’s the case, you’re right. Night scene is ca-ra-zy in Asuncion, and over the past decade I got the opportunity of working with a lot of those night clubs developing their brands and/or websites. This one was made to announce the new brand and new facilities. I remember working until 9PM on my own birthday to finish it. By the way this is probably the oldest piece I’m showcasing here. It was produced in December 2000. I can still remember the music loop in the background going “Lady… hear me tonight…”.

Oh boy, where do I start. Remember that Internet Service Provider I told you about? The one were I did my first arms in Web Development? Well, the parent company got sold so they had to do a re-brand from Infonet to a new name. The naming process was fairly simple, since the other option proposed from the Board (Infonexion) was already registered. So close the deal on Conexion and everything after that, was pretty simple. Their biggest requirement was the idea of reflecting communications, hence the satellite dish (X) and the waves coming out of the “i”.

Carmen is a Paraguayan Fashion Model, and she needed a quick way to present herself to foreign Model Agencies, so I got to produce a photo shoot and a portfolio for her.

This is local Dance Club in Asuncion with over 30 years of existence. They asked me to develop a new image for their website and a mini site for their upcoming Dance Parade called Red Sound 2. They are also the same people who owns Glam, another night club in Asuncion.

You can file this under Personal Projects that never made it because of lack of time, and yet I still like the idea. If you ever visited a third world country you already know how to deal with pot holes better than Indiana Jones itself, however, if you visited or live in Asuncion, Paraguay, you would need a little bit of extra help.
